Bear (Ursidae)Long revered in myth and lore, the bear is a powerful omnivore able to stand on two feet like a human. It lives primarily in forests and swamps. In winter bears partially hibernate. They are excellent teachers of their young. Though mostly nocturnal, a mother and her cubs will wander during the day and should be avoided. In bear country, don’t eat food in your tent! |
