Cone flower (Ehcinacae angustifolia)

Purple cone flower is native to the American prairie. A member of the aster family,  it grows about two to three feet high, and has a large single flower that appears from  midsummer to mid-autumn.  The root has been used for centuries by herbalists  for a wide variety of blood impurities and infections.
