Oak (Quercus alba)They say King Arthur made his round table from a single slab of oak. Other communities, such as birds, squirrel and deer, gather around oak for its fruit, the acorn. They’re long lived trees, and have roots so deep they survive lightning strikes. Perhaps that’s why Druids believed they emanated celestial fires. In the autumn, oak leaves are the last to fall; some hanging dried and curled on the branches. |
