Purple Aster (Asteraceae)There are over 19,000 species of aster, ranging from yarrow to sunflowers. It is one of the most successfully prolific plants found everywhere in the US. The purple aster is common in fields and along the roadsides of the west. It grows to a height of 2 feet, and produces flowers which are clustered at the end of branches. |
