Blue Columbine (Aquilegia coerulea)

The Blue Columbine, the state flower of Colorado,  lives in moist  microclimates in and around the Rocky Mountains. It can be found around rock outcroppings, or in the shade of aspen, preferring altitudes from six to eleven thousand feet.  It has dramatically  beautiful colors  when found  in Rocky Mountain meadows
